- They say 40 is the new 30, and brown is the new pink. Considering I look frightful in brown, I am skeptical about the glory of the 40's. But, being 3 years into them, I guess I can say they're not too bad so far. In fact, I'm a half of an empty nester, and my remaining child at home is enjoying being an only child. In a strange way, I'm enjoying all the changes that i've seen in my 40's too. They include completion of an MBA, becoming a grandma at 42, and landing a great new job. Thank goodness my husband of 8 years is still here to provide me some stability...although I'm sure he thinks I'm off my rocker some days! I may occassionally reference my employer, but the views reflected here are expressly mine and not that of my employer.
